Assistant Junior Golf Instructor

Corey Munns

As a High School Varsity Letterman with the accomplishments of becoming an All State and Collegiate Player, my mission now is to assist beginners, young and old, to reach their full potential while enjoying the game of golf. With friendly and enthusiastic professionalism gleaned from eight years of building relationships and memorable moments, I encourage my students to understand the competitive tournament environment. In addition, I teach the understanding of how one person’s swing is as different as one person’s characteristic trait and how they differ from one player to another.

Shadowing PGA Stephen Aumock, Director of Golf and Master Instructor for three years, I have learned that golf is more than just a swing. It is an art that consists of designing, imagining, and “being in the moment” physically and emotionally. I have prepared  young athletes to reach goals that include, but not limited to: winning high school tournaments, securing college scholarships, and playing the most consistent golf possible.

Golf is a dynamic game, changing with our emotions, physique, and technological advances with equipment that challenge today’s player. I help my students to understand the psychological part of the game, therefore to improve their “In the Moment” state of being. I, too, have experienced my struggles! I have had the fortune of spending a couple years under my good friend Eben Dennis, author of “Golf State of Mind”. His career afforded him the chance to work with some of the greats such as: Ben Hogan, Jackie Burke, and Nick Faldo. These Greats talked about “feeling the swing in the hands, seeing the shot and preforming the shot. Yet, the shot is more preformed through the mind and through thought and imagination”.

My goal is to combine patience, control, and consistency within all of my students, whether they wish to become great at the game or just want to go out and show off to their friends on how much better they are today than they were yesterday.
